Despite these official statements, some lawmakers and members of the public remain skeptical. Representative Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey suggested that the drones might be launched from a foreign “mothership” off the East Coast, though he did not provide concrete evidence to support this claim.
President-elect Donald Trump has also commented on the situation, calling for the drones to be shot down if the government does not disclose their origins. He expressed suspicion about the lack of transparency and urged immediate action.
As of now, investigations are ongoing to determine the exact origins and purposes of these drones. Federal authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged the public not to take matters into their own hands, such as attempting to shoot down the drones, due to safety concerns.
